INTIX | Mentor Program

The principle behind the INTIX Mentorship Program is to allow more experienced or more knowledgeable members to help guide INTIX members when it comes to all things ticketing and related.  Mentors help guide other INTIX Members both by providing specific knowledge about INTIX policies, procedures, and other helpful, relevant information as well as by sharing their general industry knowledge and expertise.

When the program first launched, it was geared specifically towards helping First Timers, or those attending the conference for the first time.  However, the INTIX Mentor Program has since expanded to allow all INTIX members the opportunity to partake in the program.  This means that any INTIX member can request a Mentor and be assigned to a Mentor Group.  With that being said, while anyone will find the program useful, it can be especially helpful for new INTIX Members as well as First Timers.  However, First Timers are no longer automatically enrolled.  Instead anyone in the program has either opted in during registration, via email or using the form below.

What is a Mentor?

A Mentor is a volunteer that has sufficient industry experience as well as knowledge about the INTIX organization, website, policies and procedures. As a Mentor, you are expected to provide guidance to any INTIX Member that is assigned to you.  Mentors typically have several members assigned to them but work with another Mentor to perform the duties necessary.

A Mentor should make themselves available before and during the INTIX Annual Conference to answer any questions INTIX Members might have as well as provide guidance and knowledge throughout the year, both about the INTIX organization and general ticketing knowledge and expertise.

What should I be doing as a Mentor?

Specifically, a Mentor is expected to introduce themselves to their group as soon as they have been assigned, either through phone, email or in person.  Furthermore, Mentors are expected guide their Mentees and answer any questions they may have.

Please note that, a Mentor is not expected to have all the answers, but instead be able to point the INTIX Members in the right direction, or show them how to utilize the resources made available to INTIX.

Additionally, Mentors are expected to pass on information to their groups about the additional resources, events and other happenings specific to the Mentor Program.

An INTIX member must meet the requirements below in order to become a Mentor:

  • Volunteers to be a Mentor
  • Has attended at least 1 INTIX Conference
  • Can dedicate 2-4 hours per month reaching out to their Assigned INTIX Memebers passing on Information, etc.

How are Mentors Assigned?

Upon Registration, volunteers are paired with another Mentor.  When possible, each group will have at least one Veteran Mentor, someone who has been a Mentor for at least one year.

At the end of each month, the Member Connections Committee will assign any INTIX Members that have requested a Mentor to the next available group.  All assignments will be added at random in the order that the form has been filled out, unless an INTIX Member makes a special request.  The Committee will do its best to honor all requests.

What is a Veteran Mentor?

A veteran Mentor is a Mentor that has at least one year of experiences as a Mentor.  First Time Mentors are typically paired up with Veteran Mentors so that they can provide the best service possible to their Mentor Group.
