Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement's primary ticket inventory will now be available on SeatGeek's online and mobile platforms. Comcast Spectacor-owned Spectra Ticketing currently has more than 500 clients and expects to grow through its new deal with SeatGeek, which reaches more than 8 million unique users a month. After a trial run with Stanford University, Spectra's collegiate clients will be able to use SeatGeek ticketing for this fall's football season. The deal also includes data-sharing so Spectra Ticketing clients will have access to user data from SeatGeek purchases. Clients also hope access via SeatGeek will aid in event discovery. The agreement with Spectra marks SeatGeek's continued move from the secondary ticket market into the primary ticketing market, starting with partnerships with Broadway ticket vendor Telecharge and nightlife ticketing company Wantickets. The partnership with Spectra represents SeatGeek's largest primary ticketing deal to date, bringing it into the sports arena. “Our goal is to be the go-to platform for live entertainment search,” says SeatGeek's Nihar Singhal. “Spectra is a major player in that space, especially in college, and for us to get that inventory is a big step forward to providing a more comprehensive offering.” SeatGeek also recently raised $62 million in venture capital financing for a total of $100 million raised since August 2014.
