Groupmatics Is Making Major Moves in Ticketing

Major League Baseball website manager MLB Advanced Media has approved Groupmatics as a new ticket vendor. The large market is a game-changer for the three-year-old software company, and Groupmatics will digitize MLB's group ticketing, taking its group ticketing purchases to the next level. Groupmatics software enables sports teams and entertainment venues to create a link that a fan who is organizing ticket purchases for a large group can send to the group's participants. The participants then use the link to purchase tickets, guaranteeing seats with the rest of the group, and receiving applicable group discounts. The app relieves the organizer of the tasks of collecting the money and distributing the tickets. The system also collects the names and email addresses of users for future marketing efforts. Group sales can account for as much as 15 to 25 percent of ticket sales. In addition, the data Groupmatics will collect on group ticket sales has been difficult to obtain in the past, and is very valuable to the teams and venues. Groupmatics plans to expand its services to theaters and other venues in the future.
