ParkWhiz is collaborating with StubHub to enable North American concert- and event-goers to reserve parking spots for specific events. ParkWhiz CEO Aashish Dalal says the partnership is a natural venture for his company. “[StubHub] want to promote parking as an overall part of fan experience,” he notes. Dalal says StubHub selected ParkWhiz because its parking vendor network encompasses 150 U.S. cities, and it includes parking options outside of venues' lots. StubHub's Kate Green says ParkWhiz will offer parking at StubHub's 1,000 leading U.S. venues by the end of January. She notes 50 percent of customers who buy parking through StubHub do not purchase a related event ticket via the platform. “We want to cater to that group as well and make sure we’re surfacing our parking options so they can get whatever they need,” Green says. StubHub processes parking pass transactions and splits revenue with ParkWhiz, with Dalal estimating his firm takes about a 15 percent share from parking vendors. Green says StubHub wants to determine whether people choose parking passes according to price or nearness to their desired entrance, and the company may launch enhancements to the user experience in coming versions so customers are provided with relevant information sooner.
