Eventbrite aims to compete with Ticketmaster and become the preferred option for event organizers with the release of its new Neon app. "Mobile has always been a priority for us, but Eventbrite Neon wraps in the most crucial technology for event organizers and makes it both accessible and delightful to use," says Eventbrite's Laurent Sellier. With Neon, organizers can sell tickets as the event is about to start or after it has already begun. Its functions include enabling organizers to offer last-minute deals to help fill the venue, and it also accepts mobile payments. Moreover, Neon serves as a guest list that keeps track of attendees, including tickets sold on the app itself. Sellier says Neon also is capable of scanning passes, and it can help planners resolve disputes and assuage disgruntled customers immediately, enabling anyone with access to customer data to make decisions on how to best help while still at the event. Among the event-related data Neon collects is information on ticket sales and check-ins, which Sellier says is important to venue owners and booking agents as an aid for planning future events, stipulating times and prices, and displaying the most popular events.
