TicketLeap recently launched a new event-creation engine that offers a do-it-yourself method for event-page creation and ticket-selling. “Our target customers are people creating events for a purpose,” says TicketLeap CEO Tim Raybould. “What we want to do is give these people who are creating events that are true to their personality and they care about...a platform to which they can bring people together around something they care about.” The engine enables event organizers to set up their preferred payment method, although TicketLeap has its own payment system, and the event-creation page can generate a preview of how the page will appear on an iPhone and iPad at the click of a button. TicketLeap's Beah Burger-Lenehan says mobile was the first area of concentration for the product. ”I wouldn’t review any desktop themes until we were happy with the mobile version,” she says. TicketLeap does not charge event setup fees, but takes $1 plus 2 percent of ticket sales for non-free events. The company generated $71 million in ticket sales last year, and it already has posted record earnings partly thanks to its new pages.
