AEG is partnering with Los Angeles-based Pogoseat to enable fans to purchase day-of seat upgrades and VIP upgrades at venues owned by AEG Facilities or affiliates. Pogoseat technology will be integrated through AXS ticketing on its website and in its mobile app at select AEG venues and events. AEG also will receive equity securities of Pogoseat as part of the agreement. Attendees will be able to look for available seat upgrades and check the view from a particular seat before it is purchased. The service is meant primarily to enhance the fan experience at AEG venues, but AEG Global Partnership's Nick Baker says the company also expects to collect valuable analytics and data through the platform. "Very exciting to us is that we'll get the data from the purchases," Baker says. "We're able to see exactly who's sitting in those seats, exactly where they were interested in moving, and even where they browsed." Pogoseat CEO Evan Owens notes the analytics can track a variety of data, such as which customers are upgrading, what they paid, when during the event they upgraded, and where they moved. The VIP experiences offered through Pogoseat are not yet determined, and mostly will be left up to the individual venues and teams.
