Lynne King Smith and her husband, Brad Smith, founded TicketForce as a nonprofit in 2003. The Mesa, Ariz.-based company offers software that enables venues to sell their tickets independently at prices up to 70 percent less than Ticketmaster. TicketForce has 20 employees and currently works with 125 venues, offering ticketing services for as many as 400 events every year. The company wants to expand at a 50 percent annual growth rate, according to Lynne King Smith. In addition to offering online ticketing software and systems, TicketForce accepts ticket orders over the phone, a service that most companies no longer offer. Next year, TicketForce will begin providing staff, equipment, and box office services at music festivals around the country. The company also will move into a new office next year in Gilbert, Ariz. Smith hopes TicketForce will become an attractive alternative to Ticketmaster, and eventually “the most trusted and knowledgeable ticketing leader to the entertainment industry,” she says.
