Washington, D.C.-based SimpleTix wants to make it easier and simpler for business-to-business customers to sell tickets. The company recently launched a ticket-purchasing app for Android devices, to be followed by the rollout of a similar Apple iPhone app. SimpleTix also will hire more developers and business development salespeople within the next month to accommodate the apps' expected impact. SimpleTix CEO Aron Kansal reports the company saw quadruple growth in revenue and customers since the launch of a cloud-based platform in March 2013. “We expect equal growth with the introduction of these two new products,” he notes. Kansal says he established SimpleTix to fill what he perceived as “a large void in the market, especially on the international side. There were other companies like ours but they were very U.S.-centric and accepted American currency only.” Kansal has developed a system that operates in 40 languages and currencies. SimpleTix works with event promoters, marketing personnel, tour packagers, and venues of live performances, festivals, conferences, trade shows, resorts, and amusement parks. The company offers tailored e-ticketing solutions, either setting up a ticketing website or converting an existing site into a ticketing portal. “You buy tickets through us but you keep your brand identity,” Kansal says.
