Catching up With Ticketleap CEO: Here's What's New With the Online Ticketing Business

Philadelphia-based do-it-yourself ticketing venture Ticketleap provides a platform for selling tickets to events specifically designed to build relationships with people, according to the company's new CEO Tim Raybould. The seven-year-old company, started by chairman Chris Stanchak, is working to set itself apart from competitor Eventbrite by enabling people to build their networks through events. “If you simply need a way to sell tickets to your events online, you would do fine with any of the handful of modern, well-designed DIY ticketing platforms,” Raybould says. “If you've created an event specifically to build relationships with people, then you'll find that Ticketleap offers ticketing that’s a little more human.” He says Ticketleap focuses on the experience, rather than the transaction, providing a large photo, readable event details, reviews, and a Selfie Ticket option that provides a ticket with the user's photo. To enhance its services and learn more, the company hosts at least one event a month itself, and records insights gleaned about events and growing communities on its Events University page. “We've really just begun to innovate around this new focus,” Raybould notes. “We're working right now on better ways to see and communicate with your community.”
