Following a successful 2013 launch in North America, Global Citizen Tickets will be rolled out in Britain in April. U.K. fans will be able to sign petitions, contact their local Members of Parliament, volunteer with charity partners, and participate in other social undertakings via an online platform and mobile app at GlobalCitizen.org. The website enables people to accumulate points that can be used to win free tickets to concerts and major events. Each ticket has a different point value, and participants with sufficient points are enrolled in a lottery. In addition to the United States, the Global Citizen Tickets program is operational in Australia and New Zealand. A global slate of artists and comedians are donating tickets to their shows through the initiative. "The Global Citizen Tickets initiative will launch in the UK in the coming weeks, marking the culmination of a tremendous amount of hard work and foresight,” says U.K. Global Citizens Tickets initiative committee chair Emma Banks. “I have no doubt that we will match the successes that this initiative has already enjoyed in the USA, something that could only have been achieved by our industry uniting for this very worthwhile cause."
