Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) has acquired ticketing agency the Ticket Machine Group (TMG) in a move designed to act as a "crucial catalyst in the expansion of both companies." ATG says it issues more than 10 million tickets annually via its own ticketing company, ATG Tickets, and the acquisition of TMG will "increase the ability of both companies to market and sell tickets for great shows to theatergoers." ATG's Helen Enright says her company has been looking to develop its ticketing division for some time and that TMG is the ideal fit for its planned business growth. Both firms will continue to operate under their own names, with Simon Warwick retaining his role as CEO of TMG. TMG owns the brands Love Theatre, Show Pairs, and Lashmars. TMG's co-owner, producer Edward Snape, believes the deal gives producers "added strength in the commercial ticketing process and will enhance the online, box office, and group sales capabilities of both companies." In early December, ATG also secured 100 percent ownership of the Savoy and Playhouse Theatres in London, which previously had been co-owned. ATG itself was acquired by private equity firm Providence in October.
