Ticketbud CEO Lynn Yeldell says in an interview that her company aims to transform how people use online event ticketing. "We're focused on the long tail event organizer, the mom and pop shops running events, on general admissions for small conferences and festivals," Yeldell notes. "We're also helping the entrepreneurs, people who are trying to make a difference, and selling tickets to them." Yeldell says Ticketbud gives people an online presence through an event page, and lets them transact business by accepting registrations and credit cards online without requiring programming languages. "Where we really differentiate, is we make it easy to get an event page up and running, with an interactive page editor," Yeldell says. The editor produces an event page that is identical in format to the displayed page. Selling event ticketing at a flat rate remains Ticketbud's primary differentiator, but an analysis found that the company was incurring a huge loss at the point of conversion, according to Yeldell. "We did a sample of customers, trying to figure out why they would leave, what we did to make them leave, and the universal answer was we did nothing," she says. "But, we hadn't given them something to purchase at that time." Yeldell says Ticketbud is now "reaching global event organizers on the scale of what they need to make their events more successful" thanks to innovations such as the interactive page editor.
