Ticketfly has entered into an alliance with LivingSocial that enables venues and promoters that use Ticketfly to offer ticket packages, discounts, and pre-sale deals via the daily discount company. The partners will initially offer the deals in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City, and Ticketfly's Ryan O'Connor says they are planning to expand the offering nationwide. "This new partnership will be mobile-friendly as both our companies already deliver great mobile experiences for discovering new events and buying tickets," says Ticketfly co-founder Dan Teree. "Ticketfly will deliver LivingSocial customers preferred access to some of the best music and other entertainment events around the country." The initiative is part of Ticketfly's bid to compete with Ticketmaster by expanding its pool of mobile customers. Teree says the company's mobile ticket sales have increased 40 percent in 2013. LivingSocial's Doug Miller says his company, which has struggled to profit from daily deals, has a huge interest in live events.
